Hay eto na ba and end ng open source initiative here in the Philippines!
Well recently MS Philippines and PLDT signed a MOU that binds the two big companies to undergo study for future innovation here in the Philippines (well anyway they really compliments each other) in communication! What effect could this have in the growing market of open source user? Yes as you guessed I'm an open source advocate and believe by giving the same amount of attention the government is providing to close source (propriety software) open source will definitely help this country a lot in education, industry and expenditures!

I love opensource.
I have OpenOffice installed on my PC's, and am working on ending my dependence on Windows. On my websites, I go for opensource as much as possible, except when there are serious security issues (thats why the shift from phpbb to vb for noypi.org).

it might not be a one time solve everything solution but i believe with the help of the filipinos and our corrupt government we can at least lower the playing fields i mean lots of filipinos nowadays opt to have their small business and by at least trying or boldly using opensource it will save them alot in the future or long terms, ky nga im spamming all our barangay officials here of linux CD's (ubuntu) so we can start at grass root

Tinapa nabigyan mo ata rin ako ng Ubuntu e kasi may nag bigay sakin nun nung pumunta ko PUP main. Its a big problem for open source but sa palagay ko if Bayantel ties up with opensource company siguro mababalanse kahit mas malaki pa ang market na nakuha ng PLDT
