After desperate housewives issue, Now, they insult Cory Aquino!

Come on! After ABC's insulting comment on the show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart insults Cory Aquino by placing a Photograph with the word SLUT and hearts in her photo.

I am part Filipino, part Chinese and bisaya. And my race and ethnicity has been constantly insulted and depicted as dumb and ignorant in the movies and television.

Again. Get over it, and move on!

I agree.. they should get over it. but, the petition has been increasing from 80 thou to over a hundred thou now. the only problem there is, we dont know if some of those people have been posting multiple posts there...

I went to the PetitionOnline.com, but i did not sign the pathetic petition against the ABC producers of DHs, but instead i clicked and signed the more important Jews' petition for the removal of Jewwatch.com in Google search.

I am one of those who felt bad about the Racial Slur...

But these must become a lesson for international performer or those who provides international content to be sensitive of what they put on their work, for they may offend other cultures.

It's not a matter of "doing what other does" but what is right... If you are responsible of your content then prove it and teach those who are not…

According to the blog Vox Populi » Cory Aquino was praised, not insulted on ‘The Daily Show’ , if you watch the entire show, then Cory's 'SLUT' pic if taken in context actually praises her by placing her as one of three most-admired female national leaders. I didn't see the show, but if the blogger's summary presented is accurate, then I could agree that this is really praise, not insult.

I dont really find anything funny about it. they are even saying na, they are praising cory... wtf? how the hell do they praise people then?

Kung yung nang-insulto ay di kapani-paniwala, then its possible under the right conditions to take his/her insults as praise, and vice-versa. Some examples from current Philippine politics:
- Jimenez being cited by Erap as a "corporate genius"

- Neri being called by Abalos as a "bare-faced liar"

Allegedly, sa show na ito, there were several protagonists. One of them - a self-centered, ignorant American - was the one who insulted Cory. Another character - more intelligent and knowledgeable - counters that these women did great things; Cory was pointed out to have stood against and faced down would-be military dictators. Obvious daw sa show na the ignorant viewpoint was wrong, and the enlightened viewpoint was accurate.

Siyempre, if you look at Cory as if she were a Virgin Mary-like diety, na bawal bastusin in any way ng kahit sinuman, then no amount of justification would satisfy you. In which case, I don't know what to say anymore.
